Stephen Tonks

Stephen Tonks is a Professor of Educational Psychology at Northern Illinois University. He teaches courses on motivation, educational psychology, and child and adolescent development. Stephen’s research focuses on academic motivation and reading engagement in children and adolescents, and he has collaborated on studies internationally, in countries such as Japan, Uruguay, and the United States. Stephen’s research has been funded by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education and he recently traveled to Uruguay on a Fulbright Specialist Grant to work with educators and teachers on issues of student motivation.
